Abstract

The effectiveness of Wavelet Packet based Multicarrier Modulation (WPMCM) with modulation is investigated, for communication over HF channel. The simulation results show that the performance of the proposed WPMCM system is better than that of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) for the same environment. Utilizing the advantage of concentrating energy to certain subspaces of the wavelet packet transform (WPT), a peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction method for WPMCM systems is introduced in this paper.
