Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate the possible improvement of the compressibility characteristics (compression index, rebound index, i.e.,)of natural organic soil by using cement dust and fly ash. Natural organic soil with different percentages of organic content (5, 10.15, and 20 %) is used. Three different percentages of cement dust and fly ash (3, 6, and 9 %) are used to improve the compressibility characteristics of the organic soil. The effect of curing time is investigated. The effect of the addition of (cement dust and fly ash) on compressibility characteristics of natural organic soil was studied. The results showed that the compressibility characteristics [compression index, rebound index, coefficient of consolidation, and coefficient of secondary compression] are increased with increased organic content for all samples. The use of (cement dust and fly ash) has improved the compressibility characteristics of organic soil.
