Abstract

Investigation of eddy-current problems through a thick sheet is presented based on the development of a complementary formulation for electric and magnetic field intensities. These two types of formulation (systems) can be solved independently and the two solutions complement each other. A comparison is made using a single variational principle, which involves both complementary systems simultaneously. Accurate results are given for estimating the resistance and inductance through which the eddy current can be estimated.
