Abstract

The present research dealt with the preparation of bars with a length of about (13Cm) and a diameter of (1.5Cm) of composite material with a metal matrix represented by (Al-Cu-Mg) cast reinforced by (ZrO2) or (Al2O3) particles with choosen weight percentages (1, 3, 5)%. The matrix alloy and the composite materials were prepared by casting method using vortex technique in order to disperse reinforced particles in a homogeneous way on the matrix alloy. In addition to that, two main groups of composite materials, the first group included composite material reinforced by (ZrO2) particles with by the particle size (0.05µm<p.size<25µm) while the second group included composite material reinforced by (Al2O3) particles represented by the particle size (0.1µm<p.size<30µm).
